CJH students participate in Great New York Read Aloud

Students from the C. J. Hooker Middle School recently participated in the Great New York Read Aloud at Orange-Ulster BOCES.

Members of the school’s Library Club performed the popular children’s book. Victoria Jakakas, Jack Moran, Sara Higgins and Alexis Jakakas were joined by high school freshman and former Library Club member Michael Jakakas after their classmate, Gabe Kaufman, wasn’t able to perform due to illness.

For the past 28 years, libraries and schools throughout New York State have sponsored Read Alouds during National Library Week and School Library Media Month. This year’s theme was “Libraries Transform.”
