This week’s Goshen Gladiator Student-Athletes of the Week are Varsity Cheerleaders Senior Grace Pettus and Sophomore Adriana Esposito.
The Varsity Cheerleading team put on a tremendous performance at the Pep Rally and during halftime of the homecoming football game. Both the JV and Varsity squads worked together in creating a choreographed spirit routine that combined dancing, gymnastics and teamwork.
Senior Grace Pettus is in her fourth year as a Varsity cheerleader. She is captain of this year’s cheer squad. Grace specializes in tumbling and flipping during the cheer team’s routine and has been a Goshen cheerleader since 2nd grade!
She is looking forward to making her college selection and majoring in emergency management.
Sophomore Adriana Esposito is in her second year of Varsity Cheerleading, but has been cheering for the past nine years. She is a high skilled “flyer,” which means Adriana’s teammates toss her in the air as she performs different acrobatic skills.
Adriana was also a member of the 2016 Section IX Champion Cheer Squad, which will be defending their title this winter season. She is also looking forward to trying out for the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team this spring.
