Outdoor track & field teams complete successful season

June 22, 2010 - The Goshen outdoor track & field teams made good uses of the newly renovated facility this spring. Despite the departure of several key student-athletes, both teams were able to navigate through a difficult schedule and finish with identical records of five wins and two losses. Full story

June 10, 2010 - The 2010 girls golf team end-of-the-year dinner was recently held. The girls celebrated another successful golf season. This year’s team won the Section IX Division II championship with a 7-1 league record and 10-4 overall record. Full story

Girls learn skills on the court during month long program

April 28, 2010 - Extra! Extra! Read all about it! The Goshen girls basketball program held a month-long skills session for second through fifth graders. With a turnout of over 100 girls each night, the teachers and coaches got the children excited about and interested in basketball. Full story

Goshen Central High School Physical Education

Physical education is an educational process that focuses on increasing people’s knowledge and affecting people’s attitudes and behaviors relative to physical activities, including exercise, sports, games, dance and outdoor adventure activities. More information


C. J. Hooker Middle School Physical Education

The purpose of the Physical Education program at the middle school level is to facilitate the total development of students, so that they may reach their ultimate potential as young adults, and thereby contribute to the overall educational mission of the school. More information


Goshen Intermediate School Physical Education

Students at GIS are involved in a physical education program that provides opportunities to engage in many physical activities. Emphasis is placed on skills that encourage an active and healthy lifestyle. More information
 


Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School Physical Education

All kindergarten, first and second grade students attend two 40 minute physical education classes each week. Students learn a balance of skills, concepts, games, movements and fitness. More information

Athletic news

Attention varsity, JV & modified student-athletes: Please be aware that beginning in September, the district will no longer provide a 5 p.m. late bus to bring students home from school sports practices. Students must get a ride home from their parents or guardian or with another teammate.

High School Sports Physical Dates:
April 26 & May 20 during the school day, and August 3 from 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in the high school nurse's office.

Modified Sports Physical Date:
August 2 from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at the middle school nurse's office

All student-athletes must have a signed parent permission form and an updated physical in order to tryout/practice. No exceptions.
