Lots
of smiles and giggles at
Annual
Kindergarten Festival
(Back)
The Scotchtown
Avenue Elementary School hosted its 17th Annual
Kindergarten Festival on May 9. The families of
kindergarten students filled the bleachers in
the SAS gym to watch the festivities.
The Kindergarten Festival combines physical
education with music education. Physical
Education Teachers John Russo, John Mardyniak
and Cheryl Gage worked with Music Teachers
Martha Diaz and Elizabeth Olivo to create the
different activities that the students
performed.
Students performed choreographed dances, sang
and played musical instruments, performed
different physical activities and worked with
parachutes during the Festival. The entire
Festival was set to music, including songs such
as Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino,
Great Balls of Fire by Jerry Lee Lewis and
Rock Around the Clock by Bill Haley and
the Comets.
But by far, the
highlight of the event was to watch Goshen's
youngest students smiling and laughing -- their
giggles were contagious.
