(Back)

Now that the winter months are here, as we have already experienced, there is always the possibility of inclement weather. We would like to remind you that if there have been any changes in your address or phone number, or in the arrangements that you have made in case of an emergency dismissal, please make sure that you have notified the school office and your child’s teacher.

We depend on having accurate information to contact you during the day should it be necessary and also to make sure that your child is transported to the appropriate location if an emergency situation arises. Please keep in mind that, if there is an early dismissal, the information given on the Emergency Card is that which will be followed. It is important that your child knows where he/she should go. Please take a few minutes to review this information with your child.

Also, a reminder that the District posts information regarding school closings or delays on the home page and Emergency Closing Information pages on the district website, in addition to the notifications that are given to the radio. Please also remember that the students will be going out for recess throughout the winter (unless it is bitterly cold or raining). It is important that everyone comes to school prepared with warm jackets, hats, gloves or mittens, and boots every day. On the days that your child has physical education, he/she should bring their sneakers with them to wear as they will not be able to participate in class if they are wearing boots.

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to remind you that at 7 p.m. January 8, we will have our first PTO meeting of 2008. We hope to see you there! We will see you in the new year!

Sincerely,
Daria Murphy, principal & Melissa Lawson, assistant principal
