SPANISH BOOK DONATION

The Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School - Library Media Center is the recipient of a generous donation of a bookcase filled with Spanish language books.

Lauren Perry, a senior in the Goshen High School, has been in the Girl Scouts since 1st Grade (for 12 years!).  She noticed that there was an increase in the number of Spanish-speaking children at the elementary school and wanted to give them the opportunity to read in their primary language and hoped to promote reading for them.  Lauren spent the last several months working on her Gold Award Project.  She solicited donations from the community and purchased many Spanish language books.  Lauren also built and stained a bookcase to shelve the books in the library and prepared the books for the students.
