Tips
from Mrs. Tully
How can you help your child at this time of year?
Practice writing
alphabet letters randomly,
using lower case letters correctly.
When practicing letters please
practice forming the letters quickly and
efficiently. Refer to handwriting sheet
distributed at Parent Orientation.
Play a verbal game
for approximately
five minutes a day: have your child
give the sound for a letter you say
or give the corresponding
alphabet
letter for the sound you make.
Encourage your child
to use complete
sentences at home, not one word answers.
Encourage your
child to say his/her words
slowly when they can't write a word quickly.
We have been working very hard on this skill
which needs to be supported at home.
If no homework is
sent home, read to and/or
with your child.
Remember to send in a
healthy snack for your
child to eat everyday.
