Homework Tips

  Generally, homework sheets will be given out on

        Monday stating the homework for the week.

  Make sure your child's first and last name are on

       each homework sheet.

  Allow your child to spell and write their own

        homework.  Only basic sight words should be

        spelled correctly; word lists will be sent home.

You may support your child with their

         homework, but most ideas should be their own. 

Homework should always be reviewed with an

         adult.

  Homework should be completed neatly and

       carefully.

  In addition to nightly homework, first graders

       should be reading at least 20 minutes a night.
