My Grandfather
By
Advaita
His eyes gleaming, mind whirring, thinking
what to do. Then, "Checkmate," my grandpa exclaims as he
takes my king.
My Grandpa takes two strolls everyday from my house to the
library. He is wise with experience. My mom's dad is
very smart. He's in his late seventies and is five foot
seven, I think. The reason he's smart is because he can do
any math problem in his head. His favorite beverage is
chocolate milk. It smells like Willy Wonka's factory.
My granpa wears jeans and wears jean jackets. He has grey
hair.He was the director of police in Gujrat. Ramuthathe,
that's what we call him, also walked for the C.B.I. which is
like the F.B.I. One thing I never knew about him is that he
wrote for newspapers and magazines.
He's very funny too. One joke is that my brother and I
just came back from a multiple choice test. Then our mom
asks us if we want soda or joice, and we say "a."
Believe it or not he can also do magic. The tricks are
called number magic, psychic magic and card magic. My
favorite memory was when my grandpa taught me his tricks.
The only
thing I don't get about Ramuthatha is that he doesn't let us
have gum!
My grandpa
taught me carom. Carom is a board game you play on a
wooden square with wooden rims. You have to hit circular
things, that look like mini pucks. White ones are 2 points
and clack ones are one point, but the red one is worth five
points. Then this other, bigger, cirular puck you have to
pick it and try to hit the other pieces into four holes.
My grandpa
also taught me cricket, which is like baseball except there are
no foul balls. Also the bat is broad and wooden. The
bowler which is like a pitcher, chucks a ball at the ground.
Then it bouces up and the batter tries to hit it. If
anything topples the wicket which are three poles sticking out
of the ground, the batter is out. did you know their ball
is three times harder than a baseball? They also don't
have any mitts! You can also score as many times as you
want.
My grandpa is the best
He has pretty much taught me everything!
