the
Principal's letter
for November
(Back)
Dear Parents,
Now that the cooler days of November have arrived,
there are some important seasonal reminders:
- Students need
to wear jackets and bring hats and mittens with
them every day. Our playground is very breezy
and cool, even on sunny days.
- Our recess
walkers club will be organizing this month, and
we’ll be scheduling parents to join the students
at recess. If you signed the PTO list, we’ll
contact you soon. If you’d like to participate,
call the GIS Nurse’s office and we’ll include
you in the program. Please note that
volunteering for the walkers club is at your own
convenience. You are not obligated to any
specific days or times.
- If your child
is absent due to illness, please call the
attendance office. We are required by law to
document student absences.
- Please be sure
that students arrive on time daily and stay
until the end of the academic day. The school
day begins promptly at 9:10 a.m. and ends at
3:10 p.m. Very important planning meetings are
part of the beginning of the day in many
classrooms, and the end of the day involves
homework note taking and gathering of materials
before dismissal.
The GIS faculty and
staff join me in wishing you and your family a Happy
Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Knight, principal
