Principal Mary Ann Knight's
February letter!
(Back)
Dear Parents,
Taking pride in our work is a defining
characteristic of the staff and students at GIS.
Whether we’re working on the correct formation of
cursive letters or accurately solving long division
problems or writing well supported essays, we focus
on doing our best. We’ve been achieving correct form
in gymnastics and basketball recently, and we’re
working at performing our vocal and instrumental
pieces perfectly. We’re reading and writing
error-free sentences and correctly using vocabulary
words in context. In our classes we often discuss
the processes we are following to be successful. The
students enjoy the powerful feeling of mastering a
skill or understanding a multiple part process.
All of these achievements are possible because of
the careful work our teachers do to promote
learning. They work every day to become even better
teachers. It’s an exciting environment at GIS where
so many people are striving for their personal best.
The second marking period will be completed this
month, and we expect to see the evidence of growth
and progress in all subject areas. Everyone at GIS
shares the feeling of pride in our success.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Knight, principal
