dictionaries to third grade students. |
On February 21,
third grade students at Goshen Intermediate School
received a special gift – a free dictionary from the
Goshen Rotary Club.
According to the Goshen Rotary Club, the purpose of
the Dictionary Project “is to provide third grade
students in the community with their own personal
dictionary. The dictionary is for the children to
keep, so they can take it with them into the fourth
grade and use it throughout their school career.”
Goshen Rotary Club President Allen Zick, along with
fellow members Andrew Manganiello, Linda Cusato and
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and
Instruction Jane Unhjem, handed out both English and
Spanish versions of dictionaries to all third grade
students.
President Zick explained to students the different
functions of their new dictionaries. Students were
excited to learn that in addition to using their
dictionaries for the definitions and spellings of
words, they could also reference different maps,
measurement charts and a listing of presidents. |
