Goshen Physical Education Teacher Bios
Mr. Lawson has been a physical education teacher in
the Goshen Central School District for the past eight years.
He taught in the C.J. Hooker Middle School for five years
and the past three at the high school. Prior to that, he was
employed by the Enlarged City School District of Middletown.
Mr. Lawson is a distinguished alumnus of the University of
Maryland at College Park, Maryland. He received his M.Ed
from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Mr. Lawson is currently the varsity head coach of the boys
and girls outdoor track and field team as well as the
varsity head coach of the girls basketball team. He is also
the head coach of the modified football team. Prior to this,
he served as the head coach of the modified track team as
well as the girls junior varsity basketball team.
Mr. Lawson is very active in the local community serving as
the summer coordinator of the girls basketball and track and
field programs for the Goshen Recreation Commission.
Mr. Lawson is a proud graduate of Goshen Central High
School.
Mr. McIntee started at Goshen in 2003. Prior to this
position he spent 25 years in the ski industry as program
director in charge of Ski Patrol, Ski School and Race
programs. He also coached girls modified soccer at Goshen
since 1996. He has also coached skiing, football, soccer and
track at the high school level and soccer, softball and
skiing at the junior level.
Mr. McIntee received his bachelors degree from Northeastern
University in Boston and his masters degree in Exercise
Science from East Stroudsburg University. He is certified by
the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) as
a certified strength and conditioning specialist and USA
Weightlifting as a level 1 Club Coach.
He also participated at the Empire State Games as a
competitor and coach in cycling and has attended North
Carolina Outward Bound.
Mr. McIntee graduated from Ramapo High School in Spring
Valley, NY, is married and is the parent of two Goshen
graduates, Peter and Mary Kate Pappas.
Mrs. Reiser has taught in the district for the best
part of 20 years. Before coming to Goshen High School she
worked as an exercise physiologist designing personalized
health and fitness programs for corporate clients. She has
coached cross country, indoor and outdoor track and field,
skiing and tennis.
Mrs. Reiser has a bachelors degree from the University of
Delaware and advanced degrees from the University of
Connecticut and the New York Institute of Technology. She
has also studied at the University of Wisconsin at LaCrosse
for stress management and nutrition.
In the past, she has run the New York City Marathon twice
and many sprint distance triathlons.
When Mrs. Reiser isn't working with the students of Goshen,
she finds herself working with and coaching her own
children, Patrick and Kate.
Mr. Michael A. Turi is a 1973 graduate of Goshen High
School. He received both his B.S. and M.S. degrees in
Physical Education from the State University of Cortland in
1977 and 1982 respectively. He has been an educator for 32
years.
His educational experience started at the Circleville Middle
School in Pine Bush from 1977 - 1981. While at Pine Bush he
was an assistant football coach and the Head Track Coach. In
1981 Mr. Turi came to his hometown and taught at the
Scotchtown Avenue Elementary School until 1985. He has been
at the high school since 1985. Mr. Turi has coached Varsity
Football, Alpine Skiing, Varsity Baseball and Girls J.V.
Basketball at Goshen High School.
Mr. Turi has been involved in every football banner that
hangs in the high school gymnasium, either as a player or a
varsity coach. Mr. Turi also has 5 former Varsity Baseball
players that have received college scholarships under his
head coaching. They are Joe Stepp '94 Brown University,
David Pahucki '98 Siena College/Boston Red Sox AA, Brett
Turi '99 Dean College, Jonathan Callahan '01 Clark
University and Michael Zani '01 Dominican College.
Mr. Turi started the Physical Education "Student of the
Month" program at Goshen High School in 2004.
