On April 15, Goshen
High School students were paid a visit by Linda
Zimmerman, author of the Ghost Investigator
series, which chronicles her own experiences as
a ghost investigator. Her visit was one of the many
events in honor of National Library Week.
Zimmerman, a resident of Blooming Grove, became
interested in ghost investigations while working as
a historical lecturer. She began by simply
interviewing people about their haunting
experiences; however, her scientific curiosity, most
likely a result of her experiences as a research
chemist, led Zimmerman to begin conducting her own
investigations.
"My goal is to
obtain specific scientific research that you can
match up with the history of the haunted place,"
Zimmermann said.
Zimmermann was
featured on “America's Most Haunted Places” on the
Travel Channel, “Creepy Canada” (Season Three) and
has been a guest on numerous television and radio
programs throughout the United States and Canada. In
addition to the Goshen Investigator series,
she is the author of The Dead Center, Ghosts of
Hudson Valley and the Haunted Hudson Valley
books on CD.
She talked to students about her spooky experiences
investigating ghosts in old abandoned buildings,
historical farm houses and even people’s living
rooms.
