Global History 9
Grade 9 - Full year
- One credit
This course is the
first year of a two-year course that culminates with
a Regent’s examination in Global History for all
students at the conclusion of their second year. It
is a New York State requirement that all students
pass this examination in order to receive a high
school diploma. Global History 9 uses a
chronological approach to world history, with a
variety of historical themes woven into the
presentation of materials. Units of study include
the Ancient World (4000 B.C.E. to 500 C.E.);
expanding zones of exchange and encounter (500 C.E.
to 1200 C.E.); global interactions (1200 C.E. to
1650 C.E.), the first global age (1850 to 1770); and
the age of revolutions (1750 to 1914).
