(Back)
Criminal Justice
Grades 10-12 -
Semester - 1/2 credit
This course will
introduce students to the fundamental foundations
and structures of the criminal justice system in the
United States. The rules of criminal procedure at
the federal and state level will be analyzed in
relationship to the three levels of the American
criminal justice system: the police, the courts, and
corrections. Using crime statistics and court system
analysis, the components of the criminal justice
system will be studied. Students will gain an
overall understanding of the structure and practice
of our somewhat imperfect system.
