Conceptual Physics

Grades 11/12 - Semester - One credit

This course covers basic concepts in mechanics. It is an elective for juniors or seniors who have passed Math A and does not follow the Regents core curriculum, and therefore is not in preparation for the Regents exam. The course content includes such topics as description of motion, forces, energy and waves. The physics concepts are applied to various recreational activities such as sports, music, literature, movies, and toys. Students also perform a variety of laboratory activities that parallel the classroom topics.
