ALGEBRA I
Grade 9 - Full year
- One credit
This is the first course of the New York State high
school mathematics curriculum. The core of this
course is a solid introduction to the principles and
techniques of Algebra. Some topics covered include
problem solving, solving and graphing linear
equations and inequalities, solving and graphing
quadratics, factoring, operations with polynomials,
probability and statistics. Students will take the
Algebra Regents exam at the conclusion of the
course. Graphing calculator use will be introduced
throughout the year.
