French III Course Description

FRENCH III
Full year - One
credit
The prerequisite
for this course is French II. In French III,
students continue to cover “checkpoint B” of the New
York State syllabus. Thematic topics covered include
Personal Identity, Family, Professions, House &
Home, Meal Taking, Health, Services, Sports &
Leisure and Travel. Emphasis is placed on the skills
of reading, writing, listening, and oral
communication. Students work with a peer partner on
a regular basis to ensure that they are using their
newly acquired vocabulary and grammar skills.
Projects during the year which enable practice of
vocabulary, grammar and speaking skills include a
bio-poem, a greeting card and a travel
advertisement. Cultural understanding is developed
as students compare and contrast American and French
cultures on a regular basis. This course
