LETS DO SOME SPANISH COOKING IN CLASS

We have learned in class about the “Day of the Death” (El Dia de los Muertos) celebration in Spanish-speaking countries. Therefore, as part of an interactive learning process, we will be learning how to cook one of the most famous dishes from Mexico, guacamole.  Parents/Guardians who would like to help in class are welcome. Please sign at the button of this paper to let us know that you are coming.

1.-Bring the following materials from home to use in class:

·        a pair of plastic gloves

·        an apron

·        an small  plastic bowl

·        a fork

·        1 avocado, 1 small tomato, ½ white onion, 1 lemon, 1 small bag of Doritos or chips

·        a few sprigs of cilantro

·        a plastic bag to transport your cooking utensils back home.

Make sure you have all these materials so you can learn how to make “Guacamole” in class. I will give you a grade for your participation in class and you will enjoy your own guacamole with some Doritos or chips J

The arrival time for parents who will help in class depends on your child’s schedule. Please make sure you arrive 5 minutes before the class starts.
