Assignments
Late
homework
For
every day that an assignment is not turned in, I will take 5
points off the total grade. You will have a week to make up
any late assignments.
Make up
work
If you
are absent you are responsible for making up any work that
you missed. Upon returning to school you should pick up any
handouts that were distributed while you were absent from
the file box located at the back of the room.
*If you
were sick, forgot your binder at school, or you were absent,
make sure that you log into the school's homework hotline
where you can find the Spanish homework for the week. In
addition, log into my website to search for helpful Spanish
websites, for helpful information, or call a classmate and ask
for assistance. You can now download the necessary
information directly from our web page that will be
provided.
*In
addition, If you were absent and do not know what to do for
the next class, or you missed a quiz or test, make sure you
schedule a time to stay after school with me to go over any
new material you may have missed. If you missed a quiz or
test you will have a week to make up that test. I will
assign a time after school for you to make up the test.
Test
Corrections
If you
are not satisfied with the test grade you earned in the
Spanish class, you will have the option of completing “test
corrections” in class in order to improve your grade. When
doing test corrections follow this criteria:
·
Study the
correct answers for the questions you missed.
·
Schedule
a time after school to do your test corrections
·
At the
after school session, you will be required to copy the
question missed and provide the correct answer in full
sentences.
·
Attach
your original test/quiz signed by your parents along with
the new test corrections. (Tests that have not been signed
by your parent/guardian will not receive credit for the
corrections)
·
You will
receive 100% of the total score for each correct answer.
Activities
·
At the beginning of each month of the school year, a song, a
rhyme or a tongue- twister will be taught and it will be
assigned on a sheet of paper to be completed in class. You
will receive an individual score for class participation.
·
I will give you vocabulary words for every quarter period (1st
to 4th Q. P.).
You should memorize these vocabulary words
weekly. Every Friday you will have
vocabulary quiz.
·
During reading activities, you will be working in
cooperative learning groups. Each of you will have
specific tasks to fulfill within the group. Each group will
work cooperatively to finish the activity. You will receive
a group grade.
·
During speaking and listening activities, you will be
working in pairs. One student will practice vocabulary
words/expressions/sentences orally while the other student
counts how many times each of these were said during the
activity. Then, we will switch roles. You will receive
individual scores after each activity. You will use the
partner score sheet for this activity.
