Goshen students give soldiers
A
Million Thanks(Back)
How do you thank a
stranger who puts his or her life on the line every
day – for your freedom and the freedom of millions
of others?
The students of the Goshen Central School District
are participating in A Million Thanks, a
letter writing campaign for American soldiers who
are serving overseas during the holidays. Drop boxes
were set up in the school cafeterias for students
and faculty to deposit their handwritten thank you
letters to be delivered to our troops. Letters will
be collected until December 20 and mailed before the
New Year.
“A Million Thanks offers the student body and
staff an opportunity to pay tribute and send thanks
to those who are defending and serving our nation in
one of the most dangerous ways,” said Special
Education Teacher Jolie Anne Schiering, who
initiated the district-wide program. “It encourages
our students to take an active roll in the world
around them.”
According to its website, A Million Thanks is
a year-round campaign to show our U.S. Military Men
and Women, past and present, our appreciation for
their sacrifices, dedication and service to our
country through our letters, emails, cards, prayers
and thoughts. For more information, visit
