BOARD OF EDUCATION

A special meeting of the Members of the Board of Education of the Goshen Central School District, Orange County, New York, will be held in the Board Room at the Main Street School on Monday, June 12, 2006, at 6:15 p.m. to discuss the bidding process for the C.J. Hooker Middle School Roof Project.

The special meeting was called to order by Mr. Steve Esposito, President, at 6:18 p.m.

Martha Bogart had questions and asked if it would be possible to review revised specs prior to approving the resolutions.

Mr. Reese explained that the re-bids include “add alternates” in wording this time. An expert has reviewed roof proposal and has concurred that roof specs are fine. Mr. Reese mentioned that if the resolution for the bid to be re-bidded this evening, the District would lose their window of opportunity to complete the project. Mr. Esposito also reiterated Mr. Reese’s explanation of the “add alternates” to the re-bidding process.

Michael Stroka entered the meeting at 6:24 p.m.

On a motion by Michael Stroka and seconded by Al Watson, the Board of Education the in the best interests of the School District, hereby rejects all bids for the CJ Hooker Roof Project and Cupola, SED Project #44-06-01-04-0-001-007, on the basis that the bid received was higher than the voter authorized amount for the project, and authorizes the Assistant Superintendent of Business to review and revise the bid specifications and re-bid such capital project. AYES 7 NAYS 0 Motion carried.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m. on a motion by Martha Bogart and seconded by Robert Kish to go into Executive Session with no intent to return for the purpose of work history of particular employees.
