Ask the Superintendent -
November 14, 2007
The Board of Education will hold a Public
Hearing on the proposed capital project at 7:00 p.m.
on Tuesday, November 20th, at the Main Street
building. A regular Board of Education meeting will
follow. The school calendar lists this meeting on
Monday, November 19th. It was changed and
appropriately advertised, because by law a Public
Hearing on a capital project, must be held within
two weeks (seven to fourteen days) prior to the
referendum vote. In the past, the Goshen Central
School District has traditionally held Public
Hearings two weeks before any scheduled school vote.
Tuesday, November 20th is exactly two weeks to the
day prior to the December 4th referendum vote.
At the Public Hearing, a presentation of the
proposed capital project will be made to the
citizens in attendance and there will be an
opportunity to have all questions answered. KG & D,
the District’s architectural firm and Andron
Construction, the construction management firm, will
each have a representative in attendance to help in
the presentation and to assist in answering
questions. Dr. Paul Seversky from Advisory
Solutions, the principal demographer of the two
demographic studies, is also scheduled to attend.
Should more people attend than the Main Street
School can accommodate, arrangements have been made
to move the meeting to the C. J. Hooker Middle
School auditorium.
In the meantime, we are still “on tour” and continue
to attend meetings throughout the community. We have
three dates available between now and December 4th
to make a presentation should you wish to learn more
about this building project. Please call 294-2410 to
schedule an appointment.
