DEC trapping specialist hired to trap fox spotted near GIS

The district has hired a trapping specialist from the Department of Environmental Conservation to safely trap a fox that has been seen wandering near the Goshen Intermediate School and Harness Estates area over the past few weeks.

When the fox was first spotted, district officials contacted the local police department as a precaution. They do not believe the fox to be sick or a danger to students. However, since there are still regular sightings of the fox, the district decided to move forward with its decision to hire a professional to relocate the animal.

Because the school is located in a wooded area, it is not uncommon for local wildlife to be spotted from time-to-time. However, please keep in mind that students and adults should avoid any contact with the fox or any other wild animals.
